"I don't know where to go to at this point, what would be helpful. So, I'm going to be quiet now. And try to listen and absorb."
2 hours later, after a private training session:
"The other song, I played it ten times better than when we started the session. I felt there was so much more depth to it. Everything meant more.... It just blew me away. To feel that. In all these years. Its so true. It feels like Gary has this heightened sensitivity, way beyond most human beings. You've studied with masters. You've studied from different angles and you learn from teaching others, your understanding has gone deeper. I just never had any of that type of experience. Just a whole different type of perspective....I have a reverence for those things which have been around for thousands of years....I've never been exposed to that type of thinking...It requires an open mindedness, certainly...
...Can I recreate this magic. I hope so."

"I think that the sessions, the video taping, the conversations we're having really makes me more conscious of the things that I do naturally ...or that being aware of it is a stepping stone to another level of understanding some things and advancing into more. Being more conscious of what I'm doing, while I'm doing it becomes more of a habit, you're doing it more, you're aware of it more and you're focusing on it... or knowing when to do what movement or a breath or whatever fits the situation you're in. I know I'm breathing differently, whats happening depending on how fast I'm cutting... versus when I'm more calm..when I'm doing blow outs. I find that I get into it more. Its almost like a oneness that happens when I'm doing it... It makes you more conscious of the movements you are making... A more smoother curl result...I find that when I'm more conscious of what I'm doing, kind of relaxing, getting into more one with it, it gets a more polished kind of finish to it, smoother, for lack of a better way to explain it, more of a life to it. It seems more vibrant.. a connection made to that person and their personality. and me, and the work. And I think that's what brings it together. The oneness of their hair, to their personality and who they are and then my oneness with their hair, its almost like a chain connection, the hair is the medium of the connection. You're definitely dealing with the whole person. There is more to it. You're definitely connecting to them on a deeper level. .....
I find that being conscious of it, like the breathing especially, I think helps me in other aspects of my life like when dealing with different situations... You can calm yourself.. rather than letting it control you."

Joe's testimony is that he lost the use of his upper right arm muscles and upper right thigh muscle due to muscular atrophy. Besides working full time he is also an Aikido Martial Art Instructor.
By using the inhale expansion of the "inner body muscle groups he has maintained sufficient movement to continue working and teach martial arts.
